Baddow Park House Wedding Photographer
Charlie + Nick’s wedding at Baddow Park House was an absolute beauty.
Stunning weather, gorgeous grounds and their dog Winnie joining them for the ceremony.
That’s pretty much me sold already.
Winnie also made an appearance for a few family photos afterwards. I bloody love it when dogs turn up at weddings, although I do have to remind myself that I’m technically there to work.
Say hello to dog.
Stroke dog.
Photograph dog.
Then back to the humans.
A Wedding at Baddow Park House
Baddow Park House is a gorgeous wedding venue in Great Baddow, Essex, with loads of space and beautiful grounds surrounding the house.
For a wedding photographer in Great Baddow, having somewhere like this to work is pretty bloody lovely.
There’s loads happening naturally throughout the day, and when we do want 15 minutes for some couple photos, there’s no shortage of places to wander.
That’s all I really need.
I’m not going to disappear with you for an hour while your guests are drinking champagne without you.
A quick walk, some lovely light, then back to the people you actually invited to your wedding.
Real Moments, Not a Photoshoot
Most of Charlie + Nick’s day was about exactly what I love photographing — people enjoying themselves.
That’s where documentary wedding photography comes in.
I’m watching what’s happening rather than constantly trying to create something for the camera.
The laughs, hugs, reactions, people catching up and all the little moments happening around Charlie + Nick while they were busy enjoying their wedding.
That’s the story I’m interested in.
Then Came the Dance Floor
This wedding had originally been postponed from 2020, so by the time everyone finally got together, they were definitely ready for a party.
And they didn’t disappoint.
The dance floor was absolutely going for it, drinks were flowing and there were plenty of dance-offs happening well into the night.
Thankfully Baddow Park House has bloody good air conditioning.
This is also why I love being an all day wedding photographer.
Some of my favourite photographs happen once everyone has stopped thinking about the camera and started making increasingly questionable decisions on the dance floor.
I’m there for the whole story — not just the ceremony, speeches and first dance.
Lovely.
And Then There Was the Food…
Massive shout-out to the team at Baddow Park House.
They looked after me brilliantly throughout the day, kept me fed and hydrated and the food was genuinely bloody good.
Then the evening BBQ appeared.
As someone who’s normally been running around with cameras for ten hours by this point, extra calories are always appreciated.
Very appreciated.
