Barn Wedding Photographer
Barn weddings are me down to a tee. The rustic details that make it so unique and quirky are an absolute joy to photograph. Please feel free to have a look on my website for more info regarding barn weddings.
The amazing thing about weddings now is the choice of so many different venues. Gone are the days of relying on the traditional weddings. We now see so many unique settings and as a barn wedding photographer I get to visit these little gems.
It is pretty special to see how much time and effort is put into these places. I have seen it all. Weddings with hay stacks, rustic jar centerpieces, logs, fire pits, chalk boards and even vintage milk bottles. Little touches like this make for a beautiful rustic, warm barn style wedding.
From my experience of barn wedding venues, they always have such incredible personal detail included. You usually see an acoustic player rock up. Strumming away in the sun sitting on his hay stack. Whilst guests enjoy a glass (or two) of Pimms from the rustic cart.
It’s the small touches that make a barn wedding so unique. Fairy lights make for stunning photos during the first dance. Crates and rustic flower pots for the table plans. So much can be achieved with, often DIY, personal touches.
Barn wedding venues often offer the possibility of hiring your own food vendor. This is great for people who love great food (like me). Barn wedding venues tend to struggle with making room for a kitchen. So this is when you get to put your stamp on and true preference on it……RESULT!
Love pizza? Who the hell doesn’t? You can hire a mobile pizza van like the amazing Wood Fired Pizza. Fish and Chips? Surely not? Yep, you can have this too! Contact The Frying Squad, who even supply battered sausages. Typing all of this now makes me realise where the 2019 weight gain came from!
Another assumed, even stereotypical, aspect to weddings, is the dress code. Getting dressed up in a 3 piece suit is not for everyone. But, you can still look smart whilst coming away from the traditional wedding attire.
Barn weddings often have a more ‘smart but casual’ approach. Not all the time, but when it does it fits really well with the rustic theme. Tweed suits are becoming more and more popular now. People are also ditching the tie and going for the classic ‘Grandad shirt’ style. It’s your wedding day so if this is you then go for it.
