Here we go again. It doesn’t even feel that long ago that I was writing my best of 2023 blog post and I nearly didn’t do one this time. Not that I do not enjoy it, but I am so burnt out from the year and already published a good 15 blogs to date. So, part of me just wanted to knock creating blogs on the head and concentrate fully on my YouTube channel. But, I knew I would regret it so welcome to the best of 2024 blog post.
What a year it has been. 3 destination weddings including America, weddings from Cornwall to London and winning 3 This is reportage awards. My YouTube channel is going well but of course finding the time to record and edit during a wedding season was quite tricky. Going forward, I plan to record all my content between now and April 2025 so hopefully I can stick to this plan.
I am always my biggest critique and my target this year was to use my 35mm for 95% of the day. Don’t get me wrong, I love the 85mm and it has its time and place but I just much prefer a 35mm photo. The excitement of having to move your feet to zoom in or move back to get a wide shot really keeps you on your toes (literally). I also much prefer the way it looks and the feel like you were there. The fact I have won some awards this year tells me I have improved but of course I want to keep getting better. Next year this will happen if I keep focusing and giving my absolute all at every wedding.
2025 looks really good already. 2 destination weddings (one which is back in America) some up North and even a trip to Wales. I can’t wait but for now, I really am looking forward to some down time and playing lots of video games. See you all soon.
