Last summer I had the honour of documenting the wedding proposal of Tayma + Lewis in Bude Cornwall. The lovely young couple live in Brighton where Lewis parents live in Cornwall. They visit quite often and spend a lot of days on Summerleaze beach so this was a big factor for the location of the proposal.
Lewis found my page via instagram and reached out a few months before. We both agreed a spot that was perfect for the proposal overlooking the breakwater. Afterwards, we could then walk down onto the beach for some photos. Weather was of course a big headache as you just never know with Cornwall. Luckily, we had stunning golden hour which you will see below.
It really was a perfect evening on Summerleaze beach with many people congratulating them even during the proposal. A family enjoying a BBQ clocked Lewis down on one knee so they gave him a huge applause. Little moments like this really make me smile and it just shows their is plenty of good people in the world.
After a short 30 minute photo session on the beach, Tayma + Lewis headed in to the town of Bude for some dinner. The only downside of the proposal was that my drone automatically flew back due to the high wind conditions. I wanted to try and record the proposal from the air whilst taking stills. The problem with living on the coast I suppose but lesson learned. Next time, I will look into hiring an extra person to control the drone.
