Clovelly Wedding Photographer
Sometimes it’s quite nice to photograph a wedding that doesn’t involve a train, plane or five-hour drive.
Alex + Shaun chose the ridiculously beautiful Clovelly for their wedding, making this one properly local for me.
And these two are my kind of people.
They like a beer.
Donkeys, Rugby and a Missing Veil
Alex is a rugby girl, so this was never going to be a quiet, delicate little wedding.
There were donkeys, plenty of beer and at one point we managed to lose Alex’s veil while wandering around Clovelly doing their couple photos.
Standard wedding stuff really.
Working as a Clovelly wedding photographer suits my documentary approach perfectly. There is so much character everywhere you look, but I still want the people and what actually happens to tell the story.
My photography is candid, natural and completely unposed. Even couple photos are basically a walk and a chat while I look for great light and document whatever happens.
Apparently that now includes losing important parts of the bride’s outfit.
Proper People. Proper Wedding.
This is the stuff I love.
I’m a photojournalist at heart. Give me real people having a bloody good time over a day filled with things I couldn’t possibly plan.
That’s documentary wedding photography for me.
Alex + Shaun absolutely nailed that.
Being a Clovelly wedding photographer, just down the road from home, with good people, donkeys and beer?
I’ll take plenty more of these please.
