I photograph weddings across Devon in a completely natural, documentary way. No turning your wedding into a photoshoot, no spending hours posing and definitely no barking orders at your guests.

I want you to enjoy your bloody wedding.

I’ll get amongst everyone, chat to your mates, watch what’s happening and photograph the laughs, tears, hugs, nerves, chaos and all the little moments you probably didn’t even know happened.

By the end of the day, I’d much rather feel like another guest who happens to have a camera than the wedding photographer.

Because when people stop worrying about the camera, that’s when the really good stuff happens.

Documentary wedding photography is really just about letting your wedding be a wedding.

I’m always watching what’s happening around me — the reactions, relationships and little moments that can’t be recreated. I’m not going to stop your dad laughing, your nan crying or your mate doing something ridiculous and ask them to do it again for the camera.

The moment happens. I photograph it. Simple.

My approach to weddings across Devon is candid, natural and unposed. Apart from a few family photos and a little time together as a couple, I’m not there to direct the day.

I’d much rather you spend that time drinking, laughing, hugging people and enjoying yourselves. The photographs should remind you how your wedding actually felt, not how well you followed a photographer’s instructions.

Not every wedding needs 100 guests, a massive venue and a military operation of a timeline.

I bloody love smaller weddings. Whether it’s an elopement, a tiny ceremony with your closest people or an intimate wedding followed by a few drinks somewhere brilliant, the same documentary approach applies.

Smaller weddings give me loads of opportunities to photograph the relationships and little moments between everyone there. Nothing needs to be staged just because there are fewer people.

As a Devon wedding photographer, I offer shorter coverage for smaller celebrations as well as full-day photography. So if you’re planning something intimate on the coast, in the countryside or tucked away somewhere beautiful in Devon, you don’t need to book ten hours of photography just for the sake of it.

However you decide to do it, I’ll photograph it for what it actually is — your wedding, your people and your story.

I’m not anti-portraits or family photos. I’m just very anti-spending half your bloody wedding doing them.

For family photos, I normally recommend keeping things simple and getting them done in around 15 minutes. Then for the two of you, we might disappear for another 15–20 minutes before dinner, have a wander and give you a chance to actually take in what’s just happened.

There’s no cheesy posing or pretending to laugh at each other. I’ll use the light, composition and movement to make things look bloody lovely while still keeping everything natural.

Then it’s straight back to your people.

And when the party starts, I’m not disappearing after the first dance. I bloody love a dance floor. The ties come off, the tequila comes out and people stop caring about the camera completely. That’s usually when some of my favourite photographs happen.

I want the whole story — from the quiet stuff in the morning to whatever ridiculous state the dance floor is in by the end of the night.

Living in Bude means Devon is pretty much on my doorstep, and I bloody love photographing weddings across the county.

From little coastal ceremonies and intimate weddings to countryside venues and full-day celebrations, Devon suits the way I photograph weddings perfectly. There’s no shortage of beautiful places, but for me it’s still the people that make the photographs.

I’ve photographed weddings across Devon including tiny celebrations with only a handful of guests, relaxed countryside weddings and completely non-traditional days where couples have basically ignored the wedding rulebook and done things their own way.

That’s exactly my kind of wedding.
