Hi there! My name is Gary and I am a documentary wedding photographer based in the UK . I specialize in candid, fun documentary wedding photography in and around Leicester. I look for fun and emotion on a wedding day and document it with no directing.
The absolute most important aspect of any wedding is to have fun so you won’t see me asking you to fake a smile on cue and say cheese! Every wedding I approach in an unobtrusive way so you will not even know I am there half the time.
Of course, I still like to have a chat with you all so just consider me as another friend at your wedding but one who gets the honour of taking the photos. My main aim is to capture those natural moments that you might miss.
The dance floor is when some serious s**t goes down and I love it! That is why you will not see me shooting off after the first dance. I will be with you, until the very end of the night, getting lost in the hugs, dance offs and soaked with rogue alcohol. This part of a Leicester wedding is when my documentary wedding photography reaches new levels.
It gives me the opportunity to capture your loved ones showing their true personality in a fun way especially. Having a good dance with your Mum, I can still approach this part of the day in a candid way. I can’t promise that my dance skills are any good however!
I love Leicester and this actually all started way back when I became obsessed with Kasabian. It all started a good 16 years ago when I first heard ‘Club Foot’. I have now attended 7 gigs so I am officially a fan boy. The most stand out show was the homecoming performance at the King Power Stadium following Leicester City’s Premiership triumph.
What a night that was and I actually felt like I was a Leicester City fan due to the incredible atmosphere. I can be completely honest and admit West Ham will never win such an important trophy, if even any at all.
I shot my first wedding in Leicester back in 2019 at Keythorpe Manor. Firstly, this is an absolute stunning venue where you can see my blog for Amy & Adam here. Secondly, the venue has deer wandering the grounds so if this does not tempt you, then I am not sure what will!
Covering documentary wedding photography in Leicester is something I would love to do again and I am sure I will one day. Until then, I will sign this off with a ‘Goodbye Kiss’!
