Great Ambrook Wedding Photographer
Twenty-five guests. One incredible Devon wedding venue. And absolutely no need to book a band.
Jude + Henry got married at Great Ambrook in Devon, and this was one of those small weddings absolutely packed with personality.
Twenty-Five People. A Lot of Talent.
Instead of traditional evening entertainment, Jude + Henry handed things over to their guests with an open mic.
What followed was bloody brilliant.
Musicians, singers and poets all got up throughout the evening and performed. I genuinely couldn’t believe how much talent there was in one room.
As a Great Ambrook wedding photographer, this is exactly the sort of wedding I love documenting. Real people doing something completely personal to them.
My approach is documentary, candid and completely unposed. As a photojournalist, I’d much rather react to moments like these than spend the day manufacturing them.
Let People Be People
With only 25 guests, you become part of the group pretty quickly.
That’s one of my favourite things about intimate weddings. Everyone relaxes, forgets about the camera and I can concentrate on the people, reactions and all the little moments happening around me.
It’s documentary wedding photography at its best.
Great Ambrook is certainly a unique place to get married.
But for me, Jude + Henry’s wedding was really about the people.
Twenty-five guests.
One microphone.
And a ridiculous amount of talent.
Not a bad day to be a Great Ambrook wedding photographer.
