Hacienda del Alamo Wedding Photographer
My story with Rach + Ben actually started nowhere near Spain.
I’d already photographed their engagement shoot around Hammersmith in London, so by the time we arrived at Hacienda del Alamo in Spain, we already knew each other. That’s something I bloody love.
From Hammersmith to Spain
Rach is American, so we had loads of guests make the journey over from the States.
And apparently Americans bloody love me.
It must be the accent.
Being a Hacienda del Alamo wedding photographer also meant doing what I always do — getting amongst everyone rather than standing on the outside watching.
My approach is documentary, candid and completely unposed. I want people being people while I photograph everything that naturally happens around me.
It’s basically a photojournalist approach to a wedding, just with considerably better weather.
Proper Rock Music. Proper Dance Floor.
Then came the dance floor.
Wall Street Band absolutely smashed it with proper rock music and this lot didn’t need much encouragement.
This is where documentary wedding photography becomes ridiculously good fun. I’m right in amongst everyone, flashes out, looking for the chaos rather than asking anybody to recreate it.
For me, being a Hacienda del Alamo wedding photographer wasn’t just about photographing a beautiful wedding in Spain.
It was Hammersmith to Hacienda, London to Spain, British and American families coming together and one bloody brilliant party.
And once again, the Americans seemed to like me.
USA wedding number four, anyone? 🇺🇸😂
