Horniman Museum Wedding Photography
I was first approached by Marianne on the possibility of shooting her Horniman Museum wedding photography back in 2018. I had recently shot her friend’s wedding at Strawberry Hill so she had seen my work and loved my style. Both were looking for a non-posed, documentary approach for their day so I fitted this perfectly.
We started the day at Marianne’s Mum and Dad’s house in London. It was the first time I have ever witnessed a bride styling their own hair and make up which was really nice to see and created even more interesting frames. Letting the girls get on with their duties, I just took a step back and snapped away at natural moments. The girls really did just want a non staged feel so I really enjoyed chatting with them and taking some candids.
Making our way to the Horniman Museum wedding, Marianne and her Dad arrived in a classic London black cab. This frame was also made as a London bus passed. Because of this, I felt very fortunate that we captured this moment. It is all little details like this than can really bring a photo to life.
The Horniman Museum offers a fantastic ceremony look with a green house kind of feel. It’s ideal for a photographer with it’s unique look and of course, great light.
After the ceremony, we had a great frame for the confetti shot where you could see the London skyline. Spoilt for creative locations, we also had some beautiful golden hour which made this wedding at Horniman Museum epic.
The reception did not disappoint, with guests enjoying endless spirits and wine, I could see the dance floor was going to be lively. The entire wedding party covered the dance floor so this made for some really creative shots.
