Intimate Wedding Photographer Bude
Sometimes couples travel a bloody long way to get married practically on my doorstep.
Clara + Jannik came over from Germany with a small group of their favourite people to get married at Beach Hut Weddings on Summerleaze Beach.
As an intimate wedding photographer in Bude, having weddings like this just down the road from home is pretty bloody lovely.
Germany to Bude
Small weddings are brilliant for documentary photography. Fewer people means I can really get amongst everyone and concentrate on all those little candid moments happening throughout the day.
My approach is natural and completely unposed. I’m basically a photojournalist looking for people being people rather than trying to manufacture moments for the camera.
And Clara + Jannik brought their dogs.
Immediate bonus points.
Anyone who knows me knows dogs at weddings will always get my approval.
You’ll Never Walk Alone
Then came a moment I wasn’t expecting.
Clara + Jannik walked out to You’ll Never Walk Alone.
Now, I’m a West Ham fan. I really shouldn’t enjoy a Liverpool anthem this much.
But I bloody love that song.
Football rivalry temporarily suspended.
That’s what documentary wedding photography is about for me. You never really know what’s coming next.
