Roy Events Surprise Party
For so many reasons, this will be a date to remember. After a very upsetting 2020 (for reasons we all are aware of) the need to document people was much needed. Weddings were on the way back but not until the summer so I needed something to get my teeth into. Early May, Roy Events approached myself to document a surprise party. Roy Events is a high-end design and management company that plans weddings, engagements and soirées. Bridal and baby showers is also part of their services. Detail is very important with flowers playing a big part.
Being completely honest, I jumped at the chance from a selfish point of view. I just wanted to document people being people again and felt a surprise party was 100% me. The feeling of being close to people and feeling all the emotions for example. Especially after the last 15 months.
Now, I came away with a complete adrenaline rush. Watching grandparents hug their newborn grandchildren for the first time was something a bit special. It is because moments like this that make me remember how much I love this job. The real moments that are crying out to be documented by an onlooker. These are the moments that I live for.
