They say everything happens for a reason so I suppose this story fits very well with that expression. Dory & Brian booked me as their Steeple hall wedding photographer at mission oak grill at the end of 2024. The reason for this, I had met them both when I shot Dory’s brother’s wedding in London the year before. We all got along so well but as a UK wedding photographer I never thought in a million years they would fly me over the pond. Like I said, everything happens for a reason.
Steeple hall is located in the beautiful coastal city of Newburyport, Massachusetts 35 miles northeast of Boston. So, before the wedding, I started my American journey in the city of Boston, then made my way along the coast. Salem and Manchester by the sea were my destinations. All beautiful places where I got to do some street photography and drone shots.
The wedding day was exactly as I pictured it. Autumn colours with a lovely chill which I think is perfect for weddings. Summer is of course brilliant, but when it gets too hot that can be a problem for guests. Just make sure to bring an overcoat and you will be fine.
I cannot thank Dory & Brian enough for letting me document their day. As a Brit, it was always my dream to visit as many States as I could and this now marks off another. After the wedding, I had 3 days in Maine and Vermont which I bloody loved. Just me, my camera and lots of walking finding spots to take some photos.
