Stourhead Wedding Photography
Naomi + Ben’s wedding at Stourhead was an absolute beauty.
Set in Wiltshire, Stourhead is one of those places that gives you pretty much everything — incredible gardens, beautiful architecture and that bloody gorgeous lake.
I’d actually met Naomi about six years earlier at Reading Festival through mutual friends, so I was over the moon when she got in touch and asked me to photograph their Stourhead wedding.
The morning started at a beautiful little cottage, The Old Bank House in Somerset. I spent the morning doing what I love most — natural wedding photography, capturing everything as it happened without setting anything up.
One of those moments was Naomi seeing her bouquet for the first time, which ended up being one of my favourite photographs from the whole year.
Then it was a short drive over to Stourhead Gardens, where Naomi + Ben got married at the incredible Temple of Apollo.
It’s a pretty spectacular spot for a wedding ceremony, overlooking the lake and surrounded by the Stourhead landscape.
And a little warning if you’re planning a wedding at Stourhead: that hill up to the ceremony is BIG. 😂
If you’ve got guests who might struggle with the walk, speak to the venue beforehand about getting buggies organised. They’ll bloody thank you for it.
After Naomi + Ben got married, everyone settled into drinks and canapés with views across Stourhead Lake.
This is exactly why I love documentary wedding photography. Everyone relaxing, chatting and enjoying themselves while I wander around looking for all those little moments happening between people.
We also used the lake and gardens for around 15 minutes of couple photos.
That’s genuinely all I need.
I’m never going to drag you away from your wedding for 90 minutes while everyone else is drinking champagne and having a laugh. We’ll find some beautiful light, have a wander and then get you straight back to your favourite people.
