Sophie and Alex’s wedding at The Canary Shed in Essex on 28th June 2025 was a truly memorable day, full of laughter, love, and unique touches that reflected their personalities. As a Canary Shed wedding photographer, I had the pleasure of capturing their day in my signature documentary style — natural, candid, and completely unposed. The day was beautifully hot, and we were blessed with golden hour light that made the rustic venue glow. Sophie and Alex are a laid-back couple, and their relaxed vibe set the tone for a day filled with genuine moments and heartfelt interactions. Their family, friends, and even the couple’s beloved dogs added warmth and charm to the celebrations.
Quirky Rustic Details That Made the Day Unique
The wedding décor was truly one-of-a-kind. Tables featured Marmite jars as flower centerpieces, giving a quirky, rustic twist. Guests enjoyed playful games, including a custom Guess Who with photos of the couple and their friends and family — a fun way to get everyone involved. The evening came alive with a live band that had everyone dancing all night. A standout moment was when Alex surprised Sophie by playing the trumpet alongside the band, a magical and personal highlight of the evening. After the speeches, one of their friends organised Taskmaster-style challenges, where tables competed against each other, keeping the atmosphere fun and lively.
Delicious Street Food to Keep Guests Happy
Sophie and Alex kept things informal and fun with street food vans for the evening. Guests enjoyed Lebanese wraps and a cheese toastie van, making sure everyone was fuelled for a night of dancing and laughter.
