The Reid Rooms Wedding Venue
The Reid Rooms is one of those Essex wedding venues I know bloody well.
I originally photographed the venue when The Reid Rooms asked me to create a collection of images for their website and social media. That also led to me becoming one of their recommended wedding suppliers, which was pretty lovely.
And it’s easy to see why couples love the place.
The Reid Rooms wedding venue has that relaxed, rustic Essex feel without every wedding having to look exactly the same.
You can go for the festival-style wedding, make use of the grounds and even have guests camping — particularly useful for anyone planning on taking the tequila seriously.
Or there’s Marks Hall Farmhouse, the beautiful on-site accommodation if you want some of your closest people staying right there with you.
The grounds are also brilliant for photography.
There’s loads of space, rustic details, the lake and some gorgeous light later in the day. I’m always keeping an eye on golden hour, but I’m not going to drag you away from your guests for an hour-long photoshoot just because the sun has appeared.
A quick wander together is normally plenty.
The rest of the time I’m concentrating on documentary wedding photography — your guests laughing, drinking, hugging and generally getting on with enjoying themselves.
That’s what I love about photographing weddings at The Reid Rooms. You don’t need to manufacture loads of stuff for the camera.
Give people a beautiful venue, good food, a few drinks and their favourite people.
Then let them get on with it.
