Wild by Nature Wedding Photographer
England or Wales?
Technically England. But only bloody just.
Vanessa + Michael got married at Wild by Nature Weddings, tucked away in the Olchon Valley in Herefordshire, right on the Welsh border at the foot of the Black Mountains.
Not exactly a terrible place to take photos.
Americans in the Black Mountains
Vanessa is American, which meant plenty of guests had made the journey across the Atlantic. A lot of them came from Texas.
Which is slightly mad considering I’m heading to Texas myself next month to photograph another wedding.
The Americans really do seem to like me.
Still blaming the accent.
As a Wild by Nature wedding photographer, this venue is perfect for how I work. Documentary, candid and completely unposed.
I’m a photojournalist at heart. I want to get amongst everyone, let people be people and photograph the stuff that actually happens.
Golden Hour in the Mountains
Then the light decided to show off.
We headed up into the mountains with Vanessa + Michael and were treated to an absolutely gorgeous golden hour.
No elaborate posing or turning it into a massive photoshoot. Just the two of them, ridiculous scenery and some bloody beautiful light.
That’s the documentary wedding photography I love.
A wedding sitting somewhere between England and Wales, a load of Texans and golden hour in the Black Mountains.
Being a Wild by Nature wedding photographer certainly isn’t boring.
